Work situations require performance of safe clinical skills within the scope of practice of the MA-C. The MA-C has continuous contact with physicians, APPs, nurses, front office staff, patients and their families/caregivers.**Responsibilities:**Fulfills patient care responsibilities as assigned which may include:* Organizing patient flow in collaboration with the front office staff* Interviewing patients* Obtaining vital signs* Assisting patients in preparing for exams or treatments* Performing specimen collection, including venipuncture* Administration of medications in compliance with Washington State Department of Health regulations and documented competency* Relaying instructions/information to patients and their families/caregiversFulfills clerical responsibilities as assigned which may include:* Sending and receiving of patient medical records* Facilitating patient referrals* Preparing forms for patients**Requirements:*** Washington State Medical Assistant-Certified (MA-C)* Minimum of one (1) year of experience in a healthcare setting preferred* Current BLS cerification**About Deaconess Hospital** Founded in 1896, MultiCare Deaconess Hospital is a 388-bed acute-care hospital serving the greater Spokane region. As required by various pay transparency laws, we share a competitive range of compensation for candidates hired into each position. The pay scale is $22.34 - $32.14 USD. However, pay is influenced by factors specific to applicants, including but not limited to: skill set, level of experience, and certification(s) and/or education.
