Job Summary:
An Operating Room Nurse position is available in San Luis Obispo, California. The role involves assisting surgeons and anesthesiologists while coordinating the flow of equipment, supplies, and staff during surgical procedures. The nurse will ensure patient safety throughout the perioperative phase, participate in patient care planning, assessment, and nursing treatment. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day.

Job Details:

• Location: San Luis Obispo, California
• Schedule: Rotating shifts, 8-hour shift times (Day/Evening), Monday through Friday from 0600 to 2030, with rotating start times. Minimum hours per week: 40.0
• Required Qualifications: Associate Degree (A.S.) or equivalent and a current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice; One year of full-time experience in the operating room; Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from an approved vendor; Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification from an approved vendor is preferred; Vaccinations compliant with employment conditions.
• Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Nursing; Certified Nurse, Operating Room (CNOR) certification.
• Additional Information: Call is required at least once per week during evenings and one weekend per scheduled cycle, potentially more based on clinical needs.
• Responsibilities include circulating during surgical procedures, applying aseptic techniques, operating routine equipment, preparing patients for surgery, managing biohazardous materials, and documenting tissue handling procedures. The role also involves using facility information systems and performing job-specific duties to ensure patient safety.
