THE POSITION

If so, the Department of Conservation & Natural Resources (DCNR) invites you to advance your career as a Maintenance Repairman 2 within the Cook Forest State Park Complex. This is an active role which allows you to showcase your hands‑on skills to keep park buildings, vehicles, and equipment in safe working condition. You will take part in repairs, daily upkeep, and seasonal tasks that support park visitors and staff.

DESCRIPTION OF WORK

This position focuses on repairing and maintaining park buildings, bridges, vehicles, and equipment to support safe and efficient operations. It involves hands‑on work across several trades and regular coordination with staff throughout the park. As a Maintenance Repairman 2, you will perform the following duties: Skilled Repairs: Perform mechanical, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and welding tasks on park equipment and facilities Equipment Maintenance: Service park vehicles, tractors, mowers, and tools through routine and advanced repair work Facility Upkeep: Repair cabins, restrooms, and park buildings, including painting, masonry work, and structural fixes Grounds Tasks: Cut grass, clear snow, split firewood, and assist with seasonal outdoor maintenance activities Operational Support: Operate park equipment, complete on‑site repairs, and help custodial staff when needed Safety Monitoring: Follow safety procedures, maintain clean work areas, and assist with weather station monitoring Interested in learning more? Work Schedule and Additional Information: Full‑time employment Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, with a 30‑minute lunch. Work will be scheduled 5 days/37.5 hours per week. REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: Two years of experience as a Maintenance Repairman 1 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or Four years of experience in building and plant maintenance work, which has involved at least two of the building, electrical, or mechanical trades; or Any equivalent combination of experience and training that affords the applicant with the Required Knowledges, Skills, and Abilities. Special Requirement: This position requires possession of a valid Pennsylvania Class C Driver's License. Other Requirements: You must meet the PA residency requirement.
