Job Summary

Under the direction of the School Principal/Program Manager, Program Specialist, and/or the Associate Superintendent/SELPA Executive Director, the SDC Teacher of Extensive Support Needs will provide instruction, assessment, and program planning for special education students with extensive support needs, including students with a primary disability of autism, deaf-blindness, moderate to severe intellectual disability, multiple disabilities, and/or emotional disturbance. The SDC Teacher will monitor and evaluate student progress and behavior, research, obtain and provide instructional materials for special education services, serve as an informational resource for students, parents, district personnel and community organizations, and will primarily work within a self-contained classroom.
