Position Title: Advanced Practice Provider Cross-Cover

Department: Behavioral Health

The Advanced Practice Provider (APP) in the Cross-Cover role will work across multiple settings within the Behavioral Health department, including Inpatient, Outpatient, Consultation-Liaison Service, Child & Adolescent, and the Psychiatric Emergency Center, based on staffing needs determined by department clinical leadership.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Coordinates multidisciplinary care to optimize patient outcomes within the scope of practice and under physician supervision as required.
• Reviews medical charts to assess, diagnose, treat, and educate patients and families.
• Refers patients to appropriate services as needed.
• Ensures care delivery aligns with JPS Health Network and Acclaim Physician Group guidelines.
• Provides evidence-based, compassionate care to improve outcomes and patient satisfaction.
• Demonstrates patient-centered and value-driven behavior.
• Collaborates with attending physicians, residents, learners, other providers, and support staff to ensure high-quality care.
• Documents patient care accurately and timely in the electronic health record, ensuring compliance with billing, regulatory, and accreditation standards.
• Participates in Performance Improvement Programs and Peer Review committees as needed.
• Builds positive relationships with staff, partners, patients, and the community to enhance the JPS Health Network and Acclaim Physician Group experience, fostering a supportive and inclusive work environment.
• Serves as a community resource.
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Position-Specific Details:

• Provider Schedule: 40 hours/week (M-F) 8hr shifts
• Call Schedule: Yes Inpatient Weekend Call Rotation

Qualifications:

• Current Texas Physician Assistant license or Texas APRN license with PMHNP certification.
• DEA Certification
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Preferred Qualifications:
• One (1) year of experience working as an advanced practice provider in a psychiatric setting.
• Key Competencies:
• Strong diagnostic and clinical decision-making skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.
• Commitment to patient safety, efficiency, and equitable healthcare delivery.
• Proficiency in the use of electronic health records (EHR).

• Shifts will be assigned to different settings and locations depending on the clinical needs of the department.
