The applicant must possess at least two years of experience in the electrical trades, such as an Electrician's helper. This skilled trades work primarily involves preventive maintenance on electrical systems and devices, as well as related fields such as air conditioning and heating systems. Job Duties Installs, maintains, alters, and repairs electrical wiring (underground and above ground), conduit (underground, exterior, and interior), external light fixtures and poles (parking lot, sidewalk, and building), interior light fixtures, power appliances, light machinery, electrical controls (switches, breakers, fuses, and panel boxes), transformers, motor stators, related switchgear and controls, outlets, and all other related electrical circuits and equipment, including in‑house renovations. Performs preventive maintenance tasks as assigned. Performs electrical‑related demolition and construction work on minor projects throughout the campus. Supervises lesser skilled workers in the absence of an Electrician Master. Responds to campus maintenance emergencies. Picks up parts and materials from vendors. Assists other trades as needed. Position‑Specific Details Compensation: Starting rate of pay $19.67 per hour. An additional $1 Longevity pay applies for hours worked only. Rate may increase based on qualifications.
