This is a full-time position, scheduled Monday – Friday, and includes Free Parking!No nights, weekends, or holidays!We offer our Prior Authorization Specialist:Employees are benefit-eligible on the first of the month following their start dateThis includes:Medical, dental, vision & much moreGenerous PTO and paid holidaysCompetitive salary401(K) 3% employer contributionVerizon Wireless discountUniforms providedEssential Duties of a Prior Authorization Specialist:The primary purpose of this position is to: Obtain prior authorization for medications, imaging, and surgeries. Verify insurance and help patients apply for financial assistance.Obtain prior authorizations for all oral medications, surgery, and blood work for all providers in Cardiology.Verify eligibility for oral medications, chemotherapy, surgery, and blood work; Find and set up financial assistance (copay assistance) for patientsFax all infusion orders to the infusion centerAct as the point person if there is an issue with a prior authorization or a code for the hospitalTrack prior authorizations for expiration datesManage incoming document bins and assist with the completion of necessary formsDeliver exemplary customer service to provide a positive patient experience across the organizationPerform other duties assigned by management.Minimum Qualifications of a Prior Authorization Specialist:High school diploma required, two-year college degree preferredProven work experience in a healthcare facility and/or strong customer service experience preferredKnowledge of insurance and medical terminologyStrong written and verbal communication skills with ability to utilize computer programsGeneral Physician P.C. is proud to be an equal-opportunity employer.
