Director of Banquets

JOB SUMMARY

As the Director of Banquets, you'll lead the day-to-day operation of our Banquets Department, ensuring every event is executed with exceptional service, attention to detail, and operational efficiency. You'll oversee and develop the banquet team, partner closely with Food & Beverage and Catering, and help bring everything from meetings and receptions to large-scale events to life. Caesars Republic Scottsdale, a Hilton Hotel, is a 265-room luxury lifestyle hotel in the heart of Scottsdale. The property features approximately 20,000 square feet of versatile meeting and event space, including the Romulus Ballroom, Camelback Veranda, poolside venues, private dining spaces, and flexible meeting rooms. WHAT YOU'LL DO

• Lead daily banquet operations, including event setup, service, breakdown, and overall execution.
• Recruit, hire, train, coach, and evaluate banquet team members in partnership with Food & Beverage leadership.
• Provide ongoing training and direction to banquet captains and team members to maintain service standards and strong guest satisfaction.
• Review banquet event orders and communicate event details, changes, and expectations to the appropriate teams.
• Attend daily BEO meetings and weekly Food & Beverage meetings to ensure clear communication and coordination between departments.
• Coordinate all banquet-related food, beverage, equipment, and service requirements with Culinary, Catering, and other hotel departments.
• Maintain up-to-date details on banquet functions and ensure supervisors and team members are prepared for each event.
• Assist with setup, service, and breakdown as needed to support successful event execution.
• Respond to guest and client requests promptly and professionally throughout each function.
• Prepare banquet checks, obtain required guest signatures, and communicate payment procedures at the conclusion of events.
• Requisition liquor and other supplies needed for banquet bars and functions.
• Monitor banquet supplies, equipment, uniforms, and operating materials and submit requests for replenishment or replacement as needed.
• Maintain appropriate inventory levels and oversee the proper care, storage, and maintenance of banquet service equipment.
• Maintain the safety, sanitation, cleanliness, and organization of banquet and service areas.
• Identify and correct safety hazards and communicate concerns to hotel leadership.
• Support loss prevention procedures and proper handling of hotel equipment and guest belongings.
• Maintain familiarity with the hotel's point-of-sale system and applicable banquet operating systems.
• Partner with Food & Beverage and Catering leadership on special events, promotions, operational changes, and other initiatives.
• Participate in Manager on Duty coverage as scheduled.
• Build positive working relationships and maintain open communication with team members, leaders, and departments throughout the hotel.
• Follow HCW Hospitality, Hilton, hotel, safety, and operational standards at all times.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the General Manager or hotel leadership.

WHAT YOU BRING

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• At least two years of progressive experience in a hotel, banquet, food and beverage, or related hospitality environment.
• Previous supervisory or leadership experience required.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to train, coach, and develop a service-focused team.
• Ability to remain composed and make sound decisions in fast-paced, high-pressure situations.
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to anticipate needs, identify issues, and determine appropriate solutions.
• Excellent communication and listening skills, with the ability to communicate clearly with guests, clients, team members, and leadership.
• Ability to understand and work with financial information, operational data, and basic arithmetic.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple events, priorities, and changing needs at once.
• Proficiency with Windows-based computer systems and the ability to learn hotel and point-of-sale systems.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule based on hotel and event needs, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Ability to obtain and maintain applicable certifications, including Food Handler, Alcohol Awareness, CPR, and First Aid, as required.
