Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Plant Engineer to provide technical leadership in a manufacturing environment. This position will oversee engineering projects, equipment reliability, automation, process improvements, and capital investments. The ideal candidate will have strong manufacturing engineering experience, project management skills, and a background in continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead engineering projects to improve manufacturing efficiency, safety, quality, and productivity.
• Manage and provide technical guidance to engineering teams.
• Oversee capital improvement projects, including equipment installation, commissioning, and startup.
• Develop and implement manufacturing process improvements.
• Support plant equipment, automation, utilities, and packaging systems.
• Troubleshoot equipment failures and identify solutions to reduce downtime.
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives using Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma principles.
• Manage engineering project budgets, timelines, and resources.
• Work closely with Production, Maintenance, Quality, and Supply Chain teams.
• Identify cost-saving opportunities and improve equipment reliability.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA, GMP, and applicable food safety standards.
• Provide hands-on engineering support on the production floor.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial, Electrical Engineering, or a related field required.
• 7–10 years of engineering experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Food manufacturing or consumer packaged goods (CPG) experience preferred.
• Experience managing capital projects and manufacturing process improvements.
• Strong knowledge of manufacturing equipment, automation, and equipment reliability.
• Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Root Cause Analysis, and continuous improvement.
• Familiarity with PLCs, HMIs, and industrial automation systems preferred.
• Proficiency in CAD software and Microsoft Office.
• Strong project management, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of GMP, SQF, BRC, and OSHA standards preferred.
• Professional Engineer (PE) certification preferred.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
