Maintenance Welder

As a skilled Maintenance Welder you will be counted on to repair parts and cases at our facilities. You will operate appropriate equipment to restore mechanical structures or parts with a great deal of precision. Your job is important to ETE as it provides the foundation for strong infrastructure both in our finished product and our buildings. A welder must be competent in using potentially dangerous equipment following all safety precautions. You will have a steady hand and pay great attention to detail. Knowledge of various kinds of metal and their properties is essential for success in this role.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Read blueprints and drawings and take or read measurements to plan layout and procedures Determine the appropriate welding equipment or method based on requirements Set up components for welding according to specifications Operate angle grinders to prepare the parts that must be welded Align components using calipers, rulers etc. and clamp pieces Weld components using manual or semi-automatic welding equipment in various positions Repair machinery and other components by welding pieces and filling gaps Test and inspect welded surfaces and structure to discover flaws Maintain equipment in a condition that does not compromise safety Suggest improvements, help train new personnel, communicate all issues, work overtime when needed Follow directions from team leads, supervisors and managers, be proactive and helpful Maintain a safe, clean and organized work environment, be at your workstation on time daily Adhere to all safety rules, have great attendance and give it your all every day Embrace ETE Reman's Core Values

Qualifications:

Successful completion of a relevant apprenticeship program or three years experience Proven experience as welder Experience using a variety of welding equipment and procedures (GMAW, GTAW etc.) Experience in using electrical or manual tools (saws, squares, calipers etc.) Ability to read and interpret technical documents and drawings Knowledge of relative safety standards and willingness to use personal protective equipment (face-shield, gloves, mask etc.) Professional Certification (e.g. an AWS welding certificate) will be a plus Must be 18 years old, high school diploma preferred, detail oriented, automotive/mechanical ability a plus Willingness and understanding you will get dirty at times, and may have to work with chemicals Skill and ability of working with your hands, manual tools (must provide your own) and other instruments Ability to lift 50 pounds, stand & work on your feet for 8+ hours a day and under pressure at times Have a Can-Do Attitude, with good time management, communication and decision-making skills Self-starting and motivated; believe in teamwork and uphold the ability to always help others Adhere to all safety rules, give it your all every day, must have regular, reliable, and predictable attendance
