SUMMARY Carpenter assist carpenter supervisor with their projects. Duties include using, supplying or holding materials or tools and cleaning work area and equipment. Regular attendance is an essential function of the job. PIC cannot accommodate unpredictable or sporadic absenteeism, unless covered by federal/state law. SUPERVISORY DUTIES None ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Assist carpenters in the construction of framework, as well, as repair and maintenance of permanent and temporary structure Assist carpenter in laying out work. Ability to read a tape measure Learn to perform lay-out independently Help set up and move work areas when necessary Responds to routine and emergency calls for repairs and service Must be able to complete and submit all necessary correspondence for work that is completed Follow established jobsite safety regulations. Recognize and report potential safety issues Clean work area and equipment to maintain safe and productive jobsite May perform maintenance and cleaning activities of carpenter’s work area, tools and equipment Select tools, equipment and materials needed for the day’s task and transport them to work area General knowledge of interior finish items including but not limited to: Wall protection, doors and hardware, toilet accessories, cabinets and etc. Ability to place and finish small quantities of concrete Have working knowledge of different types of carpentry tools and how to use them safely Insure the work area remains stocked with materials being used and tools needed Learn to use appropriate hand and power tools to assist carpenters in measuring, cutting, assembly and installation of forms, rebar, embeds and anchor bolts; load, transport , unload and furnish carpenter with materials, tools, equipment and supplies; perform other routine duties as directed by experienced craft worker. Ensures/maintains cleanliness and upkeep of PIC property (picking up loose trash, material and debris and disposing of it in appropriate trash receptacles provided). EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE One year certificate from college or technical school; or one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
