Job Overview Primary City/State: Deer Valley - 19829 N 27th Ave Phoenix, AZ 85027 Category: Skilled Nursing Shift: Night Department: Observation Unit-1P2 Sign‑on bonus available. Job Summary The RN’s practice is guided by the ANA Standard for Professional Nurse and Code of Ethics. The RN has knowledge of professional nursing principles, practices, concepts, and procedures as applied to the care of the patient population served. The RN records patients’ medical history and symptoms, performs diagnostic tests, administers treatments and medications, and assists in patient follow‑up and rehabilitation. The RN establishes or contributes to a care plan, including medication administration, IV line management, therapeutic interventions, patient observation, and consultation with physicians and other clinicians. The RN teaches patients and families about illness management, post‑treatment care, diet, nutrition, exercise, and medication self‑administration. The RN provides direction to licensed practical nurses and nursing aides, delegates tasks when appropriate, and supports advancement of clinical knowledge. The RN precepts new hire staff and students, assisting them to complete competency tasks, and continues to enhance knowledge in nursing management and patient care as required. Continuous quality improvement is emphasized, with nursing practice evaluated against professional standards, statutes, and regulations. Essential Functions Collect and prioritize health data, involving family as appropriate. Analyse assessment data to determine diagnoses and develop evidence‑based, family‑centered care plans. Implement interventions, including medications, emergency and resuscitative measures, based on standing orders. Provide comprehensive nursing care addressing physical, emotional, spiritual, and social‑cultural needs. Evaluate patient progress toward outcomes and document observations and interventions. Continuously assess and enhance the effectiveness of care plans and nursing practice. Integrate ethical principles and respect for cultural diversity in all aspects of practice. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, peers, and other health care providers for continuous quality improvement and evidence‑based practice. Identify changes to practice using evidence‑based research and support implementation of best practices. Consider safety, effectiveness, and cost when planning and delivering patient care. Education & Credentials Associate’s or Diploma in Nursing. All Diploma and ADN hires must complete a BSN within 60 months of hire OR have ≥5 years of RN experience at the time of hire. Preferred: Bachelor’s in Nursing (BSN). Experience ≥10 months in a med‑surg or acute specialty setting. ≥1 year RN experience for all float positions. Licensing & Certifications Registered Nurse (RN) license in Arizona (State or Compact). Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required. Unit‑specific certification (DOP) required upon hire.
