Bilingual Paramedic (EMT P)

Position Title Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) Responsibilities Determine donor eligibility, including informed consent, AIDS education, self‑exclusion, medical history interview, acceptance requirements, physical examination, blood testing, and review of Serological Protein Electrophoresis (SPE) results. Evaluate donor reactions at the facility as outlined in the SOPs. Follow applicable SOPs for medical emergencies, including development of Center Physician standing orders and transportation of donors to emergency care facilities. Refer to the Center Physician or Medical Affairs for unacceptable findings or medical/technical guidance concerning donor safety and eligibility. Support Hepatitis B and seasonal flu vaccination programs for employees. Manage employee incidents and determine if further evaluation by occupational health/ER is needed, following EHS guidance. Act as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS and support investigations related to pandemic threats within the local community. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent, or graduate equivalent of a recognized nursing program with state requirements. Current state license or certification as EMT‑Paramedic (or equivalent). Current CPR and AED certification. Completion of state requirements for basic IV therapy. Successful completion of FDA‑approved training for BioLife Medical Support Specialist. Two or more years of clinical or hospital experience.
