Substance Abuse Counselor & Alumni Coordinator | Florida Recovery Center | Part-Time | Days

Overview

Provides psychoeducational groups, 12 step workshops and counseling for substance abuse patients. Facilitates different types of groups that supports recovery and treatment including recreational activities, assisting with discharge planning and follow up care . Assists in milieu management, attends treatment team meetings when indicated and participates in the on call rotation and holiday coverage rotation. Duties include documentation, reviewing of first steps with patients and assisting in various clinical intervention when indicated.

Must successfully pass an AHCA Level 2 screening for this position

Qualifications

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:Bachelor's degree in a mental health related field required. One year of experience with specialization in addictions required. Master's degree in Social Work or Counseling can substitute for the required experience.OR Certification Certified Addiction Professional (CAP) from the Florida Certification Board or equivalent in another State and three years of inpatient or outpatient substance abuse experience will be considered in lieu of degree. Experience in group modalities and counseling required. Computer Skills are required. Understanding of the 12 steps is required. Recovering professionals must have a minimum of three years of continuous sobriety immediately preceding and concurrent with hire date.Motor Vehicle Operator Designation:Employees in this position:Will operate vehicles for an assigned business purpose as a 'frequent driver'Licensure/Certification/Registration:Addiction Certification preferred. If an RN or LPN, current licensure in Florida and Addiction Certification required.
