Senior Payroll Compliance Expert

We’re partnering with a fast-growing HR technology business looking to hire an experienced German Payroll Compliance Specialist to support the development and optimisation of payroll products across the German market. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with deep German payroll expertise who enjoys working at the intersection of payroll, compliance, and technology. You’ll act as the subject matter expert for German payroll compliance, partnering closely with Product, Engineering, and Operations teams to ensure payroll solutions remain fully compliant with changing legislation and statutory requirements. The position will focus heavily on translating complex payroll and tax regulations into practical product requirements while supporting ongoing compliance initiatives and process improvements. Key Responsibilities Provide expertise across end-to-end German payroll compliance Monitor and interpret changes to German payroll legislation, tax, and social insurance regulations Support payroll product development with compliance-focused guidance Collaborate with internal stakeholders across Product, Engineering, and Payroll Operations Contribute to year-end payroll activities, tax documentation, and statutory reporting processes Identify compliance risks and support resolution planning Help improve payroll processes, controls, and operational efficiency Requirements Strong end-to-end German payroll experience Excellent knowledge of German payroll compliance, wage tax, and social insurance regulations Hands‑on experience with: Monthly payroll processing Year‑end payroll activities Payroll tax documentation and reporting Social insurance obligations Experience working with payroll systems or payroll software platforms Fluent English and native/C2 German language skills Strong analytical mindset with excellent attention to detail JGA Recruitment Group Ltd ("We") are committed to equality of opportunity for all applications regardless of age, disability, sex, gender reassignment, sexual orientation, pregnancy and maternity, race, religion or belief and marriage and civil partnerships.
