Details Pediatrics unit in a hospital setting, including Pediatric MedSurg, Pediatric Oncology, and Pediatric Step Down Patient ratio of 1:4-5 Night shift, 4x12 hours (7:00 PM-7:30 AM) 36 or 48 hour contracts available Cerner charting system preferred but not required Mandatory floating required, including serving as a Patient Observer (sitter) anywhere in the organization No on-call requirement specified Requirements Active MO or Compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration PALS certification required Minimum 2 years of RN experience required Teaching hospital, community hospital, and Trauma Level I experience preferred Previous charge nurse experience preferred Skilled in IV therapy, phlebotomy, and administration of blood and blood products Experience with pediatric dosage calculations and emergency medications Experience with respiratory care including oxygen delivery systems and oral/nasal suctioning Experience with GI care including feedings and NG tube management Ability to ambulate, reach, and move objects weighing up to and over 20 lbs Additional Information Provide direct nursing care to pediatric patients across medsurg, oncology, and step-down settings Routine contact with patients who may have contagious illnesses Facility operates 24/7, 365 days a year, requiring rotating shifts and work during inclement weather Holiday coverage required for at least 50% of holidays occurring during the contract Weekend work required as assigned Maximum 10 days of RTO allowed, with none permitted during the first week due to orientation First-time travelers are welcome to apply Local candidates accepted, though those within 50 miles are not eligible and those within 51-74 miles may be offered a local rate Local candidates are not eligible for extensions beyond the initial contract American Traveler Job ID P-771921.
