Corporate Senior Accountant

Overview My Community Homes is a premier single-family home rental company (SFR), meeting changing lifestyle demands by providing access to high-quality, updated homes. Located in Miami, FL, My Community Homes purchases, renovates and rents homes across the United States. Reporting to the Accounting Manager / Controller, the Corporate Senior Accountant is a key member of the corporate accounting team, responsible for assisting in the monthly close, financial reporting, and balance sheet integrity across multiple SFR entities. This role is heavily reporting- and Excel-driven and works in close partnership with our offshore accounting team — directing, reviewing, and elevating their work product to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and consistency. The Corporate Senior Accountant partners with FP&A, Treasury, Operations, and external auditors to support the company’s continued growth and reporting requirements. Responsibilities Assist in the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes across multiple SFR entities, including preparation and review of journal entries, accruals, prepaids, fixed assets, debt, intercompany, and equity activity. Prepare, analyze, and distribute monthly and quarterly financial reporting packages, including consolidated financial statements, variance analyses, and executive-level management commentary. Work with, maintain, and continuously improve complex Excel-based reporting, reconciliations, and financial models using advanced functions. Partner with and provide oversight of the offshore accounting team — assigning work, reviewing deliverables, resolving questions, providing training and feedback, and ensuring SLAs and quality standards are consistently met. Support multi-entity consolidations, intercompany eliminations, and property-level to entity-level roll-ups for an expanding portfolio of SFR assets. Develop, document, and maintain standard operating procedures, desktop guides, and training materials to drive consistency between onshore and offshore teams. Identify and implement process improvements and automation opportunities to shorten the close cycle, improve reporting accuracy, and scale the accounting function with the business. Provide ad hoc financial analysis, reporting, and decision support to senior leadership, and operations partners. Maintain financial integrity by following, monitoring, and improving internal controls; protect the organization’s value by keeping information confidential. Strong technical accounting knowledge (US GAAP); real estate / SFR or REIT exposure preferred Advanced Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, advanced lookups, large dataset manipulation, conditional formulas) Experience working with and reviewing the work of others such as junior team members and or offshore team Strong financial reporting, analytical, and problem-solving skills Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to interact effectively with leadership and cross-functional partners Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities, meet tight deadlines, and own deliverables independently Process-improvement and automation mindset High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy Education, Experience, and Licensing Requirements Bachelor’s degree in accounting; Minimum two years of public accounting experience in audit and 3 years of overall progressive accounting experience Demonstrated experience preparing reporting packages and reconciliations in Excel Prior experience working cross-functionally and directly with offshore accounting teams CPA or CPA candidate strongly preferred Compensation and Benefits Competitive salary with bonus opportunities Competitive healthcare insurance package 401k with 4% match, immediately vesting #J-18808-Ljbffr
