Department Website: Job Description and Duties Under the direction of a Senior Transportation Surveyor, the TS‑PC is a professional supervisory level that requires a valid California Land Surveyors’ License or equivalent. The TS‑PC may supervise both professional and technical staff, is directly responsible for survey field crews and operations, and maintains a valid driver’s license when operating State vehicles. Work assignments are based on divisional and departmental needs and may arise in any office within District 8 (San Bernardino and Riverside Counties). Special Requirements Possession of a valid California Land Surveyor’s License (a Certificate of Registration as a Civil Engineer issued by the California Board of Registration for Professional Engineers and Land Surveyors prior to January 1, 1982 satisfies this requirement). Possession of a valid driver’s license when operating State‑owned or leased vehicles. Verification of minimum qualifications before interview and/or appointment; transcripts or equivalency evaluations may be required. Eligibility Eligibility determination includes exam scoring for the Transportation Surveyor Party Chief (Caltrans) exam.
