Registered Nurse - Labor and Delivery

Position Overview: A registered nurse with independent practice in a clinical setting, responsible for providing routine and complex patient care, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation. The role involves addressing psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families, administering medications and treatments, monitoring effectiveness, and documenting care details. Key Responsibilities Utilize nursing process to deliver patient-centered care aligned with standards and competencies. Assess and address patient and family education needs, resources, and issues. Delegate tasks appropriately to care providers to manage clinical situations effectively. Administer medications/treatments following protocols, monitor for side effects, and evaluate outcomes. Maintain accurate documentation of patient history, symptoms, medications, and interventions. Qualifications & Skills Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred. Minimum of 1 year nursing experience in a related specialty preferred. Valid RN license in the state or a compact license. Required certifications: BLS, NRP, and ACLS. Additional certifications such as AWHONN FHM or NCC C-EFM are preferred and required within specified timeframes. Strong clinical judgment, communication, and patient education skills. Additional Requirements: Completion of organizational orientation, annual competency validation, and ongoing certification renewals are essential.
