MRI Technologist

Position Overview As an MRI Technologist, you are responsible for patient safety and the performance of high‑quality MR studies on site. You ensure effective communication with Radiologists, team members, patients, and customers in the mobile environment. When required, you train and orient new technologists, Patient Coordinators, and/or MR Technologist Assistants. Responsibilities Responsible for patient safety, including pre‑screening for contraindications and aseptic injection technique. Operate multiple MR systems. Produce high‑quality diagnostic images. Use all channels of communication to address concerns, solve problems, and resolve conflict. Effectively communicate with customers and/or radiologists. Train and orient new technologists, patient coordinators, and MR Technologist Assistants on site. Other duties as assigned. Position Requirements High school diploma or equivalent experience. ARRT (R), ARRT (MR) or ARMRIT, or registration acceptable by contract; state license if applicable. CPR certification. Valid state driver’s license where required. 3 months supervised MRI clinical scanning experience OR more than 6 months enrolled in an accredited MRI training program. No experience required for an RT(MR) or ARMRIT MRI registered technologist. Ability to work at several locations. Strong customer service, organizational and multi‑tasking skills. Basic knowledge of computer applications. COVID‑19 vaccination may be a condition of employment. Local travel may be required. Preferred: Associate’s degree or equivalent experience. Registry in Magnetic Resonance by ARRT. 1 year of Magnetic Resonance Imaging experience. Physical Requirements The employee may be exposed to outside weather conditions during patient transport on a mobile unit. The employee will be exposed to a strong magnetic field, blood/body fluids, infectious disease and communicable disease when interacting with patients. More than 50% of the time: sit, stand, walk; repetitive movement of hands, arms and legs; see, speak and hear to be able to communicate with patients. Less than 50% of the time: stoop, kneel or crawl; climb and balance; carry and lift (ability to move non‑ambulatory patients from a sitting or lying position for transfer or to exam).
