Associate Mission Systems Software Engineer

Salary: $99,450 - 134,550 per year Requirements:

• We require a bachelors degree or equivalent.
• We need at least 2 years of related work experience, or an equivalent mix of technical education and experience.
• We require 2+ years of programming experience with Go, Java, C/C++, Rust, or Python.
• We need experience with systems integration and systems engineering processes and procedures.
• We require strong verbal and written communication, collaboration, technical, and integration skills.
• We need the ability to obtain a U.S. Secret Security Clearance after start.
• We require the ability to obtain program access, which requires U.S. citizenship.
• We require the ability to meet U.S. export control compliance requirements as a U.S. Person.

• We require the ability to complete a technical assessment as part of the selection process.
• Preferred: a bachelor of science in engineering, engineering technology, chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science, plus 2+ years of related experience; or a bachelors degree with 6+ years of directly related experience; or 10+ years of related, relevant experience.
• Preferred: a bachelors degree or higher in computer science or an engineering-related field.
• Preferred: experience debugging and troubleshooting technical issues involving computer memory or timing.
• Preferred: familiarity with embedded systems software, C, C++, Rust, Linux, VxWorks, containers, Git, CI/CD, DevSecOps, and/or Cameo.
• Preferred: experience developing embedded real-time software.
• Preferred: experience developing Operational Flight Program software for an aircraft platform.
• Preferred: experience working with real-time operating systems.
• Preferred: experience with object-oriented analysis and design methodologies.
• Preferred: experience with agile software development.
• Preferred: experience with open architecture constructs such as Open Mission Systems, Open Communication Standard, and the Universal Command and Control Interface.

• We design, develop, test, debug, and maintain software integrated into embedded devices and systems that meets industry, customer, safety, and regulatory standards.
• We review, analyze, and translate customer needs into software designs for embedded devices and systems.
• We build and write code for embedded software running on specialized hardware.
• We integrate embedded software with hardware components.
• We analyze, monitor, and improve embedded software efficiency and stability.
• We test and debug software for embedded devices and systems.
• We implement current and emerging technologies, tools, frameworks, and regulatory changes relevant to software and hardware development.
• We advise on software and hardware integration areas.
• We track and evaluate internal and supplier software team performance to support compliance with project plans and industry standards.
• We perform embedded software project management activities.
• We contribute across the full software development lifecycle, including requirements, architecture, implementation, documentation, and verification.
• We work as part of an agile integrated product team alongside software, analysis, integration and test, sensor, and system test engineers.

We are hiring Associate Missions Systems Software Engineers - Embedded to join our Mission Systems Software team in Berkeley, Missouri. This role offers work across safety-critical and mission-critical flight software, with exposure to the full development lifecycle in areas such as sensor fusion, mission management, resource management, fire control and weapons engagement, mission processing, stores management, tactical communications, third-party software integration, and DevSecOps.
