Play a vital role in supporting a middle school student with severe autism and high needs as a dedicated Social Worker on a full-time contract basis. This position offers a unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact in a school-based environment, working closely with students, educators, and support staff. The assignment begins August 4, 2026, and features a Monday through Friday schedule totaling 35 hours per week, with the additional flexibility of one remote workday each week.

Key Qualifications:

• Licensed Social Worker with experience in school or healthcare settings
• Background in social work for students with autism or high behavioral needs is preferred
• Strong understanding of IEP processes, behavioral interventions, and crisis management
• Ability to provide both 1:1 direct support and guidance to educational assistants
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and documentation skills
• Compassionate, patient, and adaptable demeanor

Primary Responsibilities:

• Provide direct, individualized social work services to a middle school student with severe autism
• Develop, implement, and monitor behavior and support plans in collaboration with the instructional team
• Offer strategies and professional guidance to an assigned Education Assistant, ensuring consistency and effective care
• Participate in multidisciplinary meetings, maintaining thorough records and contributing to progress reports
• Communicate regularly with families and school staff to support the student’s social, emotional, and academic growth
• Advocate for student needs and connect families to community resources as appropriate
