Lead role for Manufacturing Engineer. Responsible for optimizing manufacturing processes, supporting daily production operations, and supervising a team of shop-floor employees. This position requires both technical expertise and leadership skills to achieve safety, quality, delivery, and cost goals.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

Consistently seek opportunities to enhance processes, procedures, and work practices in the area. Maintain a positive work environment through effective communication with customers, suppliers, and team members.

Operations & Process Improvement

Design, enhance, and standardize manufacturing processes, work instructions, and production techniques.

Analyze production data to identify causes of downtime, scrap, and quality issues; implement corrective measures.

Assist with new product launches, equipment installations, and layout modifications.

Lead or participate in process capability assessments, time studies, and PFMEA activities.

Optimize tooling, fixtures, and equipment to improve efficiency and reduce variability.

Supervision & Team Management

Provide guidance, coaching, and feedback to production team members on a daily basis.

Plan and allocate resources to meet production schedules and customer requirements.

Ensure team adherence to safety protocols, quality standards, and company policies.

Support training, onboarding, and skills development for employees.

Address personnel issues and escalate as needed.

Safety & Quality Assurance

Promote a safety-first culture; conduct safety audits and investigations.

Collaborate with Quality team to address non-conformances and implement preventive measures.

Ensure equipment maintenance and safety standards are met; coordinate maintenance activities.

Continuous Improvement Initiatives

Lead continuous improvement activities to reduce waste, enhance efficiency, and streamline processes.

Apply Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma principles for continuous enhancement.

Support cost-saving efforts through process enhancements and material optimizations.

Collaboration Across Functions

Coordinate with various departments to achieve operational objectives.

Attend production meetings and present performance updates based on data analysis.

Assist in evaluating capital projects and analyzing investment returns.

Conduct regular performance discussions with employees and complete formal reviews based on job descriptions.

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing, or related Engineering field.

2-5+ years of experience in manufacturing or process engineering.

Previous leadership or supervisory experience preferred.

Strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles.

Proficient in CAD software and manufacturing documentation.

Experience with root cause analysis tools and ERP/MRP systems.
