About the Role
The Company is seeking a Vice President of Engineering with a strong background in aerospace, defense, training simulations, advanced manufacturing, or a similar technical environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the enterprise engineering organization, ensuring disciplined and predictable technical execution across various engineering disciplines. This role involves establishing and maintaining engineering standards, governance, and metrics, as well as leading the technical transformation towards a product-based strategy. The VP of Engineering will also be instrumental in the development and maintenance of engineering processes, policies, and standards, with a focus on compliance and driving the achievement of cybersecurity maturity model certification. Applicants must have a minimum of 15 years' engineering experience, with at least 5 years in a leadership role managing multidisciplinary engineering teams. The role requires a deep understanding of engineering change control, technical reviews, and release processes, and a proven track record of improving schedule and delivery predictability. Experience in OEM environments and with structured stage-gate processes is essential. The ideal candidate will be enterprise-minded, execution-oriented, and possess the ability to make timely technical and resource decisions. A Bachelor's degree in a relevant technical discipline is required, with a preference for an advanced degree. The VP of Engineering should be a visible developer of talent, capable of building a culture of technical rigor, accountability, and collaboration.
