Personal Care Specialist (STNA/CNA) – Hospice

This is more than a personal care position. You'll build meaningful relationships with patients and families while working alongside nurses and other members of an experienced hospice care team.

What You Should Know

• Full-time | 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM

• Weekend rotation approximately every 4–6 weeks

• Driving position serving patients in the Zanesville and Lancaster areas

• Most patient visits are in Zanesville

• Mileage reimbursement provided

• Reliable transportation and a valid Ohio driver's license required

• Must be comfortable driving in varying weather and road conditions

What You'll Do

As a Personal Care Specialist, you'll provide hands-on care that helps patients feel comfortable, safe, and respected in their own environment.

Your day may include:

• Helping patients with personal care and daily activities while promoting dignity, comfort, and independence

• Supporting family members with education and assistance related to daily care needs

• Observing patients and communicating changes in condition to the clinical team

• Working closely with nurses and other hospice professionals to provide individualized care

• Documenting care accurately in the electronic medical record

• Building trusting relationships with patients, families, and coworkers

At Ohio's Hospice, we use the title Personal Care Specialist because we recognize the important role CNAs play in providing compassionate, dignified care.

What We're Looking For

Required:

• High school diploma or GED

• Valid Ohio driver's license and safe driving record

• Current automobile insurance meeting state minimum requirements

• Basic computer skills

• Ability to travel throughout the service area

Preferred:

• Active Ohio STNA/CNA certification in good standing

• At least 1 year of healthcare or patient care experience

• Hospice and Palliative Nursing Assistant (CHPNA) certification
