Advance your education and career with our tuition assistance program Summary The Purchasing Clerk is responsible for assisting the procurement department in procuring goods and services needed for company operations. This role involves preparing purchase orders, maintaining purchasing records, coordinating with vendors, and ensuring timely delivery of products while adhering to company policies and budget guidelines. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Prepare and process purchase orders (POs) based on requisitions from various departments Research and evaluate PO’s and supplier communications to ensure quality, cost-effectiveness, and timely delivery Maintain accurate purchasing records, including invoices, purchase agreements, and supplier contracts. Communicate with vendors and internal teams to confirm order details, resolve discrepancies, and track deliveries Ensure all purchases comply with company policies. Prepare reports on purchasing activities and supplier performance from feedback of other buyers. Requirements Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Strong organizational and administrative skills Strong prioritization skills and ability to multitask Excellent verbal and written communication skills Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and purchasing software Ability to work independently and in a team environment Attention to detail and accuracy in data entry Basic knowledge of procurement processes Education and Experience High school diploma or equivalent 1+ years of previous experience in purchasing, procurement, or supply chain roles Physical/Visual/Mental/ Environmental Factors The demands described are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
