Panel Builder II (Electrical Control Panels) – 1st Shift
Location: Onsite Auburn Hills, MI. 48326
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 6:30 AM–2:30 PM
Pay: $25/hr
Summary
Now hiring a Panel Builder II to lay out and build custom industrial electrical control panels from prints and work instructions. This Panel Builder II role is hands-on, detail-driven, and ideal for an experienced electrical panel builder who can independently interpret industrial control panel electrical schematics (not circuit boards or wire harnesses). Every build is unique, so strong blueprint/schematic reading, wiring accuracy, and pride in workmanship are critical.
Responsibilities
- Independently interpret prints, electrical schematics, and work instructions to build custom control panels
- Perform full panel assembly including layout, component installation, and wiring
- Identify layout or material discrepancies and report issues to the lead
- Accurately use measurement tools and equipment to verify placement and build quality
- Use power tools safely and correctly during assembly and installation tasks
- Use cranes, rigging, or forklifts as required to move materials and completed panels
- Support field installs and service calls as needed
- Maintain quality standards, follow safety practices, and keep work areas clean and organized
- Work independently while supporting overall team workflow and deadlines
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (required)
- 3+ years of experience in a related electrical/mechanical assembly field (required)
- Experience reading and building from industrial control panel electrical schematics (highly preferred)
- Knowledge of electrical and mechanical drawings and print interpretation
- Strong attention to detail and quality-first workmanship
- Able to use measurement tools (tape measure, T-square, torque wrench, scale) accurately
- Comfortable operating power tools in a shop/manufacturing environment
- Clear communication skills and ability to work independently
- Familiarity with cranes, rigging, or forklifts (preferred)
