Registered Nurse - Med Surg - Weekend

Full Time-  Midnight Shift - weekends plus 1 night shift during the week.  36 hours per week plus every 3rd weekend. 

Med Surg - This is a 55 Bed Med Surg Oncology, Hospital Unit.  We're the inpatient Chemo unit.  We have a hand-full of Chemo's every month.  We do Chemo training after 6 months.  We have in-patient Hospice. IV skills preferred. This is a fast pace unit that see's a heavy volume of admissions and discharges. 

GENERAL SUMMARY:

Uses independent professional judgment, analytical skills, and the nursing process to provide a full range of delegated, interdependent, and independent nursing services to patients. Within the framework of the Seven Dimensions of Patient Care and Benner's Domains of Nursing Practice, demonstrates clinical competence; compassion and customer service orientation; focus on process and outcomes; and cost-consciousness when assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing care provided to patients.

Role Overview

As an RN- Inpatient Weekend at Genesys, you will play a vital role in providing leadership and coordination of quality patient care during weekend shifts. You will support patients and their families by utilizing the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care. Your work ensures that patients receive compassionate and effective treatment, contributing to their overall health and recovery.

What You Will Do

• Provide leadership in the coordination and delivery of quality compassionate patient care.
• Utilize the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care.
• Delegate, supervise, and document care and teaching of patients and their families.
• Effectively communicate pertinent patient/family information to the healthcare team.
• Participate in finding and implementing solutions for variances from patient goals.

 

 

Qualifications

What You Will Need

Required Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited school of nursing.
• Minimum of 1 year RN experience; if Nurse Resident, all residency requirements must be completed including clinical requirements.
• Current RN licensure by the Michigan State Board of Nursing.
• Health care provider certification (BCLS).

Preferred Qualifications

• BSN preferred.
