Panel & Machine Building Technician
$32-$38/hr | 1st Shift | Monday-Friday
Overview
We are seeking a skilled Panel & Machine Building Technician to join a growing automation and manufacturing team. In this hands-on role, you will build custom electrical control panels, assemble automated machinery, and troubleshoot electrical systems using detailed blueprints and schematics. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys building complex equipment from the ground up and takes pride in producing high-quality work in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities
- Build, layout, and assemble custom electrical control panels to engineering specifications.
- Assemble machines, subassemblies, and automated equipment using mechanical and electrical drawings.
- Read and interpret electrical blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams to complete projects accurately.
- Install and wire components including PLCs, switches, relays, circuit breakers, drives, and other control devices.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose electrical issues involving wiring, controls, PLCs, and panel components.
- Ensure all assemblies meet quality standards, customer specifications, and applicable electrical codes.
- Work closely with engineering and production teams to resolve design, wiring, and assembly issues.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Document build changes, troubleshooting findings, and completed work.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities to enhance build processes and panel designs.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in panel building, machine building, electrical assembly, or a related field.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and blueprints.
- Hands-on experience assembling and wiring electrical control panels.
- Strong troubleshooting skills with electrical systems, controls, PLCs, switches, and circuit protection devices.
- Experience working independently to complete custom builds from schematics and engineering drawings.
- Solid understanding of safe electrical work practices within a manufacturing or shop environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience building UL 508A control panels.
- Technical degree, certificate, or formal training in electrical technology, automation, robotics, or a related discipline.
- Experience supporting custom automation or machine-building projects from concept through final assembly.
- Familiarity with common panel shop tools, fabrication equipment, and electrical testing instruments.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality craftsmanship.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Work Environment
- First Shift: Monday-Friday, 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM
