Senior Research Analyst

Position Purpose A subject matter expert in research operations oversight, billing compliance assurance, and study lifecycle fidelity. This position supports the integrity of research execution by monitoring alignment between protocol intent, coverage analysis assumptions, study documentation, and downstream operational outcomes. The role focuses on early identification of operational drift, compliance risk, and recurring breakdowns across the entire research portfolio to support proactive intervention and continuous improvement. Nature and Scope Reporting to department leadership, this position operates within research operations and collaborates closely with Research Analysts, Research Systems staff, study teams, and compliance partners. The role's scope oversees the financial and billing compliance functions of the full study portfolio for the department and ensures appropriate coverage analysis decisions are made and implemented. Responsibilities Reviews and makes recommendations for adjustments in budgeting and processes to align with industry standards and trends. Independently identifying and implementing improvement measures to enhance compliance, workflow efficiency, and overall study portfolio optimizations to increase revenue and patient experience. Ensures cross-study oversight, analysis, and escalation related to research billing compliance, coverage analysis guidelines, protocol adherence, and operational integrity across the study lifecycle. Directing the work of the Research Analyst team with minimal oversight. Additional Skills and Abilities Demonstrated ability to apply judgment and critical thinking to complex research operational and compliance scenarios. Delegation and project management skills to ensure follow-through on improvement initiatives in cross functional teams. Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly convey findings and implications to research leadership. Ability to work independently, prioritize risk-based issues, and synthesize information across multiple studies and systems. High level of professionalism, discretion, and attention to regulatory and institutional requirements related to clinical research. This position does not provide patient care. Minimum Qualifications Education: Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English sufficiently to perform job duties safely and effectively. Bachelor's degree in business, science, or related area required. Clinical/Science exposure and/or education preferred. Experience: 4-6 years of experience in clinical research analytical background related to research financial analysis, coverage analysis, and research billing compliance required. Must be proficient in research life cycle. License(s): None. Certification(s): None.
