Summer Camp Nurse: Health & Wellness Leader

Under the direction of the Health Services Coordinator, camp nurses will provide care to individual staff and villagers. If you love helping others, working with children, and exploring other languages and cultures, join us this summer! NO language skills are required for health care roles. Nurses can week for one week or more between June 14-August 29. Free Meals Free Lodging (private room) Continuing education opportunities Tuition Discount for your child at camp You Will: Collaborate with Concordia Language Villages Health Services Coordinator & Village Deans to provide for the healthcare needs of staff and children Use an electronic medical records system to enter and maintain the health records of the Village Supervise Village’s Health Interns/Health Center Assistant (HCA), Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), and/or Village First Aider Collaborate with program staff to provide a safe and healthy environment for program participants Adapt to constantly changing environment with flexibility and a problem-solving style Communicate with parents/guardians about updates to their children’s health as needed Supervise distribution of medication to staff and villagers Demonstrate understanding of youth mental, emotional, and social health needs About Concordia Language Villages: Named one of Minnesota’s Best Summer Camps by Star Tribune readers for three years in a row, we bring language alive at Concordia Language Villages! General Responsibilities for All Positions Be familiar with and abide by specific policies set forth in the “Personnel Policies,” which are designated by Concordia Language Villages administration and individual Village deans. Read and become familiar with the responsibilities for your specific area of assignment. After receiving your Staff Handbook and other material, read all the information carefully and thoroughly before arriving at the Village. Be prepared to live in a private room in a shared space with other health care staff Model standards for behavior and be sensitive to the health and welfare of the villagers. Essential Functions of All Positions Emotional resiliency and cognitive abilities to carry out job responsibilities specifically in the busy, noisy, communal environment that is the Village. Ability to establish and maintain appropriate professional relationships. Ability to exercise good judgment and manage your own needs in order to maintain a youth-centered program. Interpersonal skills to interact effectively with individuals and groups in respecting social and cultural diversity and to maintain appropriate boundaries. Provision of essential functions helps assure compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). Minimum Salary: Minimum Qualifications: LPN, RN, NP, MA, PA, DO, or MD (current MN Licensure) CPR Certified and experience in First Aid Ability to use technology including electronic medical records system, email and virtual conferencing software Preferred Qualifications: Language ability and cultural assessment skills preferred, but not required #J-18808-Ljbffr
