Registered Nurse - Labor and Delivery

Job Description

Job Summary:

Seeking an experienced RN to providing high-quality care in a fast-paced Labor and Delivery unit. The Nurse will manage high-risk obstetric patients, perform assessments, and support patient families throughout their birthing experience.

Responsibilities:

• Provide comprehensive nursing care for obstetric patients, including high-risk pregnancies and routine antepartum care.
  
• Collaborate with the healthcare team to coordinate patient management and ensure safe delivery processes.
  
• Perform complete patient assessments, including exams and documentation, without inserting invasive procedures like IUPCs.
  
• Administer medications such as mag sulfate and monitor patient responses, ensuring adherence to protocols.
  
• Participate in unit-specific orientation and maintain compliance with hospital policies and protocols.
  
• Support patient and family education on labor, delivery, and postpartum care.
  Qualifications:
  
• Hold a valid BSN and current RN license.
  
• Demonstrate at least 2 years of high-risk OB or Labor and Delivery experience.
  
• Possess certifications such as ACLS, NRP, and preferred RN-C.
  
• Be proficient with Meditech and GE charting systems.
  
• Show strong customer service skills and adaptability to a fast-paced environment.
  
• Ability to work rotating shifts, including every 3rd weekend, with flexibility for floating to OB or nursery.
