About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Progressive Care Unit, Stepdown Duration: 17 weeks Shift: 12-hour days Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: 2 years in Stepdown in an acute care setting is required without exception. License: Nursing License Required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS preferred Must-Have: Must be able to read and interpret strips. Description: Strict 75-mile radius rule applies. Must be located within 75 miles from the facility address as per the driver's license. Experience in Stepdown in an acute care setting is crucial. Clinical interview available or an auto-offer based on resume review. Nurse-to-patient ratios are 1 to 5. The unit has 44 beds, including eight semi-private rooms. Charge nurse functions as a clinical supervisor. Every other weekend commitment is required. Uniform color is Caribbean Blue. Flexibility is needed for holidays and days around holidays. Tele technology is Philips. IV team and pharmacy services are available 24/7. Experience with drips including Cardizem, amiodarone, dobutamine, and others is preferred. Familiarity with BiPap and CPAP is required. Common diagnoses include various cardiovascular surgeries and conditions such as CABG, CHF, and arrhythmias. Nurses are preferred to have the ability to pull pacer wires. Fast turnover of rooms is common with an average census of 32-38 patients. Discharge and admit rates can be 12-16 patients on busy days. Attendance is emphasized, and flexibility with floating to other units is expected. Additional dress code notes include natural-colored hair, no false nails or shellac, no facial piercings, and no visible tattoos.
