Sr Software Engineer, BE Python

Job Description Summary This role delivers complete solutions spanning all phases of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC), including design, implementation, testing, delivery, and operations. The engineer advises management on project-level issues, guides junior engineers, operates with minimal supervision, and applies industry best practices. Essential Responsibilities Deliver end‑to‑end solutions across the SDLC. Advise immediate management on project–level issues. Guide and mentor junior engineers. Make technical decisions independently using internal conventions and industry best practices. Apply technical best practices to all decisions. Minimum Qualifications 3+ years of relevant experience and a Bachelor’s degree, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Additional Responsibilities and Preferred Qualifications Bachelor’s and/or Masters in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience. 5+ years of experience with Python or a comparable high‑level language. Advanced skills with RDBMS, NoSQL stores, caching solutions (e.g., Redis, ElastiCache, Hazelcast) and messaging/queuing protocols (SQS, Kafka, RabbitMQ, Pulsar). Experience designing and operating distributed applications 24x7x365, including infrastructure for global‑scale services. Hands‑on experience with IaaS/PaaS in AWS (or similar), using infrastructure‑as‑code (AWS CLI, CloudFormation, Terraform, Ansible, GHA, Puppet) and scripting (Lambda, API GW, Python, Java, Bash). Database operations experience: DynamoDB, DocumentDB, Cassandra, MySQL, Aurora, Redis, Elasticsearch. Mentoring and development of engineers, strong communication skills. Knowledge of Linux OS, JVM, Python runtime and performance considerations. Experience with fault‑tolerant, scalable distributed services and public‑cloud infrastructures (AWS, GCP, Azure). Experience managing infrastructure as code using Terraform. Compensation Base pay ranges by location (subject to experience): San Jose, California: $143,500 – $210,160 per year.
