Generator TechnicianBemana is seeking an experienced Generator Technician in Plainview, NY to join a leading independent provider of commercial generator maintenance, repair, and sales. Established in 1990, our client has the Northeast's largest team of EGSA-certified technicians and a growing nationwide presence.Our client is seeking a skilled Generator Technician 3 with advanced experience diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining diesel, natural gas, and propane generators, as well as automatic transfer switches (ATS) and control systems.Position Offers:$40-$55/hr depending on experience (If your target pay is higher, we still encourage you to apply—we could request adjustments based on experience and market conditions)Paid weeklyCompany take-home truck and fuel cardPaid door-to-door travel timeSpecialty tools and arc flash PPE providedMedical, dental, and vision insurance (effective after the first 60 days per Union)3% 401(k) company matchUnion pension2 weeks of prorated PTO to start (11 paid federal holidays, 2 floating holidays, and 5 paid sick days)Commission on technician-generated repair work (not available in Phoenix, AZ; Fremont, CA; and Orange, CA)Relocation assistanceKey Responsibilities:Diagnose, repair, and maintain commercial and industrial generator systems up to 4MWTroubleshoot electrical, engine, and control system issues.Perform load bank testing, ATS testing, and system performance checks.Read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals.Lead emergency service calls and support complex field repairs.Complete accurate service documentation and parts reporting.Mentor Generator Technicians I & II.Coordinate with customers, project managers, dispatch, and vendors to complete jobs efficiently.Follow safety standards and participate in a rotating on-call schedule.Qualifications:High school diploma or GED required; technical training preferred.5+ years of generator service and repair experience.Experience with major generator manufacturers (Cummins, Kohler, Generac, CAT, MTU, ASCO).Proficient with diagnostic software, multimeters, and load banks.Knowledge of NFPA 110, NFPA 70E, and OSHA standards.If your experience matches the description above, submit your resume, and one of our recruiters will be in touch to tell you more about the position and learn more about your experience and aspirations.If your experience does not match this job description, we still encourage you to reach out to one of our recruiters, so we can learn about your professional aspirations for future job openings.Bemana provides recruiting services to the nation's equipment and industrial sectors.
