Sunbelt Staffing is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) to provide dedicated 1:1 nursing support for a 5-year-old student in a school-based setting in Cheshire, Connecticut. This is a full-time opportunity for the 2026–2027 school year.
Position Details
- Location: Cheshire, CT
- Start Date: ASAP
- End Date: June 4, 2027
- Schedule: Full-time, 9:05 AM–3:35 PM
- Student: 5-year-old
- Position: 1:1 School Nurse
Student Medical Needs
- Student has a central line that requires monitoring during the school day but does not require line care
- Student has a jejunostomy that collects output into an ostomy bag
- Provide attentive monitoring and nursing support throughout the school day
Responsibilities
- Provide dedicated 1:1 nursing care and monitoring
- Monitor the student's central line and overall medical status
- Monitor and manage the jejunostomy/ostomy bag as needed
- Follow the student's individualized healthcare plan and physician orders
- Respond appropriately to changes in the student's medical condition
- Maintain accurate nursing documentation
- Collaborate with school staff, family, and the student's healthcare team
- Support the student's safe participation in the school environment
Qualifications
- Active Connecticut RN license required
- Pediatric or school nursing experience preferred
- Experience with central lines, jejunostomies, or ostomy care is preferred
- Strong clinical, communication, and observation skills
- Ability to provide compassionate and attentive 1:1 care
