Role Description The Dental Hygienist is a full-time, on-site role based in Auburn, ME. This role is responsible for performing comprehensive dental hygiene services, including dental prophylaxis, periodontal assessments, and non-surgical periodontal therapy. Day-to-day tasks include reviewing medical histories, taking and charting radiographs, educating patients on oral hygiene and disease prevention, and collaborating with dentists on treatment planning. The Dental Hygienist will also support overall patient experience by providing gentle, judgment-free care, maintaining accurate clinical documentation, and adhering to infection control and safety protocols. This position involves close teamwork with dentists and dental assistants to ensure efficient, high-quality patient care throughout each visit. Qualifications Strong clinical skills in Dentistry and Dental Care, with the ability to support comprehensive treatment plans. Proficiency in Hygiene procedures, including Dental Prophylaxis and management of Periodontal Disease. Current state license as a Dental Hygienist (or eligibility for licensure in Maine). Certification in local anesthesia and nitrous oxide administration preferred or willingness to obtain. Commitment to patient education, preventive care, and judgment-free communication. Knowledge of infection control standards and experience with electronic dental records. Ability to work collaboratively in a team-focused environment and provide reliable, compassionate patient care.
