Scope of Position

Responsible for the overall day-to-day operations of a store with weekly sales of $500k to $1.5m and is accountable for achieving desired sales objectives and EBITDA results.

This position is accountable for coaching and developing all team members (125 plus per store) through formal and informal interactions while demonstrating the company's core values.

Responsibilities

 

• Achieve/exceed weekly, period, and annual sales, revenue, profit budgets, and other targeted goals.
• Regularly discuss store-level financial performance, including developing budgets (e.g., sales, shrink, labor expenses, other expenses) and other targeted goals (e.g., safety) with store assistants and department heads.
• Direct store teams in the planning, implementation, and execution of merchandising and operation initiatives
• Build a proactive and productive relationship with union officials, if a CBA covers the store
• Work with assistant managers, department managers, and store associates to identify opportunities in the store, develop timely solutions and create action plans to ensure implementation.
• Drive cost-effective sales by working with store assistants and department managers to produce and maximize sales and profits, reduce shrink, and improve each store department's contribution
• Understand and react to the competitive landscape within the district leadership
• Demonstrate inclusionary leadership, expect inclusive behavior from associates, and support the efforts of the Store, District, and Division Cultural Councils
• Utilize coordinators and other field staff to enable store departments to achieve financial goals and ensure communication, implementation, and execution of division marketing plan
• Promote and support strong relationships with local community organizations that the store serves
• Responsible for store staffing, retention, and reducing turnover
• Provide timely feedback to store associates on individual and department performance
• Ensure associates and the store comply with laws and regulations applicable to the company
• Supervise and coach direct reports on the performance of their duties; complete performance reviews and provide feedback to direct reports
