Description

• Conduct thorough evaluations of patients in pediatric, adult, and geriatric groups using a range of assessments and observation methods.
• Craft individualized treatment strategies that aim to meet both immediate and ongoing communication, cognitive, or swallowing needs.
• Deliver focused one-on-one speech therapy sessions concentrating on communication, language, fluency, voice, and swallowing abilities.
• Collaborate effectively with an interdisciplinary team of physical therapists, occupational therapists, nurses, and physicians to devise comprehensive care strategies.
• Provide essential education to patients and their families, empowering them to build on progress even when outside the clinical environment.
• Occasionally support inpatient speech therapy evaluations and interventions, ensuring seamless continuity in patient care.
• Maintain thorough and timely documentation that complies with all relevant state, federal, and organizational standards.
• Engage in ongoing professional development and strengthen your skills through continuous education and collaboration with peers.

Education

• Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
• Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if not ASHA-certified.

Certifications

• Current state license as a Speech Language Pathologist .
• ASHA's Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) is preferred.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification to be obtained within the first month of employment.
