Mechanical Engineer

Mechanical EngineerOur team is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to support an airborne structure program in Dallas, TX. The selected candidate will be responsible for conducting detailed structural analysis using ABAQUS/CAE to support the design and optimization of the product. The tasks will include detailed part modeling and analysis based on inputs from a loads model, as well as working with the loads model itself. The analysis tasks will include assessing part designs for static and dynamic strength, fatigue, and durability. The selected candidate will work under general direction of the structural analysis team and will be accountable for completing the work within the agreed upon cost and schedule. Intermediate to advanced knowledge of ABAQUS/CAE is a requirement, as ABAQUS/CAE is the tool of choice for this project. Experience with Hypermesh can be considered in addition to ABAQUS/CAE.Required Skills:Understanding of finite element structural analysisIntermediate or Advanced knowledge of ABAQUS/CAE and/or HypermeshExperience with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)Ability to manage multiple prioritiesDesired Skills:Weight optimization experienceVibration and dynamics experienceFatigue/damage tolerance experienceExperience with aircraft primary structure design/analysisKnowledge of commercial CAD software, such as CREOProgramming skills in Python languageExperience with AFGROWRequired Education:Must have a B.S. or higher from an accredited university with a major in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Computer Science, Math, or other related field.
