Contract | 13 Weeks | 3x12 or 4x12 Hours | Rotating Days/Nights (07:00–19:30 / 19:00–07:30) | Expected 36 hours/week | Every other weekend required | Holidays required as scheduled

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a cardiovascular/cardiac intensive care unit serving adult and geriatric populations with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:1, up to 1:3 with stable, lower-acuity patients
• Manage complex cardiac diagnoses including cardiogenic shock, cardiac arrest, heart failure, cardiac arrhythmias, MI, pulmonary hypertension, and hypertrophic cardiomyopathy
• Operate and monitor specialized equipment including Impella , IABP , VAD, CRRT, ventilators, cooling devices, and CCO monitors
• Assist with or support bedside procedures such as central/A-line insertions, bronchoscopy, chest tube insertion, Swan/PA catheter insertion, targeted temperature management, and CRRT
• Participate in advanced therapy workups including LVAD and heart transplant evaluations
• Float within specialty and to ICU or lower-acuity areas as needed; travelers are first to float

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license in the state of Maryland or a valid Compact license at time of submission
• BLS and ACLS certifications (AHA only) required
• CPI certification required (Calm Every Storm online version is currently the only acceptable online vendor)
• Minimum 2 years of CVICU experience required; first-time travelers with strong CVICU background including IABP and Impella experience will be considered
• Must reside 50 or more miles from the facility to be eligible

Preferred Experience / Skills

• NIHSS certification preferred
• CCRN certification preferred
• Experience with advanced mechanical circulatory support devices (IABP, Impella, VAD)
• Familiarity with advanced cardiac therapy workups including LVAD and heart transplant protocols
