Orderly/Patient Transporter - Ambulatory Surgery Center (Per Diem)

The Opportunity At Hand

The orderly provides routine housekeeping and environmental sanitation in our Surgi-centers. You will also assist with inventory control, materials management, and the transportation of patients.

Our Expectations Of You

Must be comfortable providing the highest level of care to our patients. Must maintain knowledge of infection control and basic sterile technique. Must have an understanding of proving patient care. Must be comfortable in a fast paced, pressured environment. Must be flexible and able to work multiple shifts. Dispose of waste in appropriate receptacles and report general repair issues to building manager. Maintain the supply of linens and empty hampers as needed. Setup and break down OR's as necessary. Collaborate with the circulating nurses to assist with patient flow. Take patients from pre-op to OR, and to post-op, and attach appropriate apparatuses. Report patient observations to the nurses. Exercise basic knowledge of patient body mechanics during positioning. Assist in the setup of the OR (switching foot pedals, setting up the scope, etc). Transport patients to their cars via wheelchair during discharge.

What You'll Need To Succeed

BCLS preferred. High school diploma required. Prior hospital or surgi-center experience preferred. Strong written and verbal communication skills. You're a team player who works well with a team and independently.
