By offering cutting-edge treatments, innovative research, and a patient-centered approach, we are redefining what’s possible in the fight against cancer and blood disorders.If you want to be part of a growing organization committed to **healing, hope, and advanced care**, join us and help make a meaningful impact!**Job Description:**# **Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)****Location: East Islip, NY****Hours/Days: 4/10 hour days, Mon-Tue, Thu-Fri 7a-7p Organization: New York Cancer & Blood Specialists (NYCBS)**## **In This Role, You Will:*** **Update and maintain the electronic medical record with up to date vital signs, patient demographics, medication reconciliation, allergies and medical diagnoses*** **Manage Physician inbox messages and prioritize tasks assigned via the electronic medical record*** **Assist in maintaining the medical inventory; place orders for new materials and stock rooms to ensure adequate supplies for physician staff*** **Clean and prepare examination rooms prior to patient appointments*** **Escort patients to exam rooms*** **Provide patient education concerning medications, management of diseases, home treatments, and special diets*** **Assist physician with exams and/or procedures*** **Prepare and administer Injections*** **Phlebotomy and collection of other lab specimens*** **Perform point of care lab testing*** **Perform EKGs*** **Administer and document medication under a physician’s order and follows the five (5) medication rights and reduce the potential for medical error**## ## **We Require:*** **Current NYS LPN license required.*** **Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.*** **Consistent professional conduct and meticulous attention to detail.*** **Excellent verbal and written communication skills as well as excellent interpersonal skills with patients, staff, and other health care professionals.*** **Experience with EMR’s*** **Reliable transportation to any of NYCBS location for patient care needs**## ## **What We Offer:*** **Salary: Starting at $32.50 per hour based on experience*** **Benefits: Health Insurance on day 1, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, Short- and Long-term disability, 401k Plan, Paid Time off (PTO), 8 paid holidays (2 floating)****Join us at NYCBS, where we are making strides in healthcare through innovative and compassionate care.
