Site IT Manager

Position: PDS Site IT Manager Location: Indiana Technical Center, Kokomo, IN Job Purpose The Site IT Manager is the fully accountable IT leader for all IT services at the assigned plant(s) and/or tech center(s). The role is fully onsite and ensures stable, secure, and standardized IT service delivery that aligns with enterprise IT strategies, platforms, and policies while directly supporting site leadership and business operations. Responsibilities Business Partnership, Governance & Business Alignment Act as the primary IT business partner and single point of contact for plant‑ and tech‑center leadership, representing the full scope of enterprise IT services. Operate as a hands‑on partner, rapidly building and deploying functional AI, automation, and reporting prototypes to accelerate site decisions and support change management. Shape and lead the local digital roadmap in alignment with regional roadmaps and enterprise strategies, applying an AI‑First lens to create productivity, efficiency, and value opportunities. Demonstrate fluency in evaluating practical use cases for copilots, agents, automation, and low‑code platforms, considering total cost of ownership and reuse of enterprise capabilities. Ensure clear communication of IT priorities, service performance, risks, and improvement actions using data, dashboards, and AI‑generated insights for real‑time visibility. Ensure site‑level adherence to global IT governance, standards, and architectural principles. Manufacturing IT / OT & Cybersecurity Own site‑level execution and governance of IT and its alignment with OT environments, including local MES, SCADA, connectivity, and engineering systems. Maintain compliance with IT/OT cybersecurity requirements: asset inventory, segmentation, vulnerability remediation, identity hygiene, and change controls. Apply zero‑trust principles, OT security, identity, and threat awareness to enforce enterprise standards and address local incidents decisively. Coordinate with regional and global cybersecurity teams to remediate risks and incidents. Ensure business continuity, disaster recovery, and resilience plans are implemented, tested, and maintained. Digitalization, AI Transformation & Technology Adoption Champion AI adoption at the site, coaching engineers, operators, knowledge workers, and the local IT team on day‑to‑day use of copilots and enterprise AI tools. Lead local adoption of enterprise AI, digital platforms, tools, and processes while supporting change management. Execute site components of regional and global digital initiatives, ensuring consistency and reuse across IIoT, analytics, automation, AI enablement, and enterprise platform deployments. Identify adoption barriers, local risks, and improvement opportunities, escalating them as necessary. Hands‑on with enterprise low‑code and AI tooling such as Power Platform, Copilot Studio, and approved Azure AI services to build prototypes, automations, and copilots that solve real plant and tech‑center problems. Apply responsible AI practices, including data classification, approved use cases, human‑in‑the‑loop review, and enterprise AI governance. Promote strong local data hygiene—data quality, ownership, and curation—foundations for credible AI, analytics, and reporting. IT Operations, Performance & Escalation Management Own end‑to‑end IT service performance across enterprise and local services. Serve as the site escalation point for IT incidents, service degradation, and operational risks. Coordinate local and enterprise service teams to ensure timely resolution and root‑cause elimination. Drive a “Shift Left” mindset locally to prevent recurrence and reduce demand on enterprise service teams. Participate in regular service reviews with site leadership, ensuring SLA and KPI adherence. Maintain visibility into the site’s cybersecurity risk posture and partner with the Cybersecurity team to mitigate business risks. Ensure operational compliance, audit readiness, data protection, business continuity, and enforcement of IT and IT/OT policies. Manage local vendors and service providers, holding them accountable to defined technical standards. Site Project & Portfolio Management Lead and coordinate site‑level execution of IT projects and initiatives. Manage site‑specific IT roadmap, projects—including scope, schedule, risk, and vendor coordination. Align with global, regional priorities, PMO standards, and enterprise delivery models. Provide transparency on project status, dependencies, and business impact. Talent Leadership & Capability Development Lead, coach, and develop the local IT team, fostering continuous improvement, service excellence, safety, and ownership. Participate in regional IT communities and capability‑building initiatives. Continuously refresh the site IT team’s hands‑on skills across AI tooling, scripting, modern endpoint management, OT security, and data fundamentals. Model a continuous upskilling mindset—staying current with new tools, completing certifications, and contributing to practice communities. IT Financial Management Manage site IT financials, including budget, forecast, and actuals. Ensure cost transparency and compliance with approved spending. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field. 5+ years of progressive IT experience with at least 2 years in a site or hands‑on IT leadership role within a manufacturing or industrial environment. Hands‑on technical skills with enterprise low‑code and AI tooling (Power Platform, Copilot Studio, approved Azure AI services), basic scripting (Python, SQL), modern endpoint management, and workflow automation. Working IT/OT depth—practical support of MES/SCADA environments, plant networks, edge and IIoT connectivity, and shop‑floor systems. Demonstrated experience deploying and driving adoption of enterprise AI tools at the site level, including coaching users and embedding AI tools into daily work. Cybersecurity working knowledge—zero‑trust principles, OT security, identity, vulnerability and patch hygiene—to apply enterprise standards correctly and respond to local incidents. Continuous upskilling mindset—habits of staying current through experimentation, certifications, and active participation in communities of practice. Strong service excellence orientation, hands‑on incident management, root‑cause discipline, and ITIL fundamentals. Vendor and supplier management at the site level, holding local providers to technical standards and enterprise agreements. Strong communication and stakeholder management with plant and tech‑center leadership, shop‑floor teams, and regional/global IT counterparts.
