Join Our Dynamic Critical Care ED Pharmacy Team! Job Description:
- Position: Critical Care ED Pharmacist
- Shift Availability:
- Day Shift: 5x8-Hour (12:30 - 21:00)
- Mid Shift: 5x8-Hour (14:00 - 00:30)
- Requirements:
- Must have Critical Care/Emergency Medicine clinical pharmacy experience.
- Board Certification: BCCCP or BCEMP is required.
- PGY2 in Critical Care or ED or 5+ years providing clinical care in ICU and/or ED is needed.
- 1 year of American Society of Health System Pharmacist (ASHP) accredited residency or 4+ years of acute hospital experience is required.
- A valid Pharmacy license from the TX State Board of Pharmacy is necessary.
- Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS.
- Responsibilities:
- Attend Code Blues, provide necessary medications, and document participation.
- Participate in Rapid Sequence Intubations across all areas of the hospital.
- Attend Code Strokes; recommend treatment and mix fibrinolytics as needed.
- Participate in Code Sepsis; review patient profiles and make antibiotic recommendations.
- Execute comprehensive pharmacy services for all STAT orders in the ED and ICU.
- Monitor EPIC verification queue for all STAT orders needing clinical intervention.
- Conduct drug utilization reviews and monitor for drug interactions.
- Maintain formulary integrity and participate in antibiotic stewardship programs.
- Provide pharmacokinetic dosing and monitoring services to medical staff.
- Function as a clinical resource for hospital staff.
- Availability:
- Preferred 7 days per week availability to support 24/7 staffing needs.
- Additional Information:
- EPIC experience is required for most units.
- Minimum 2 years of experience preferred for most roles.
