Manual Lathe Operator $20-$22/hr

About the Role:

We’re looking for a skilled Lathe Machinist to set up and operate lathes, produce precision parts, and verify that finished work meets specifications. You’ll work as part of a team that takes pride in quality and safety.

Responsibilities

• Load and mount materials into the lathe, either manually or with a hoist or crane
• Select and install cutting tools according to setup requirements
• Remove and replace dull cutting tools, and attach tools and workpieces to the lathe
• Monitor numerical displays and compare them with blueprint data to verify dimensions, adjustments, and cutting speeds
• Inspect finished parts with micrometers and precision dial gauges to ensure they meet specifications

Skills & Knowledge Requirements

• Knowledge of machines and tools, including their design, use, repair, and maintenance
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
• Working knowledge of math applications and measuring tools
• Understanding of raw materials, production processes, quality control, and cost factors that support efficient manufacturing
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality
• Commitment to following all safety procedures
• Ability to work productively as part of a team
