About the Role
The Company is seeking a Managing Director of Housing Operations to lead and manage the performance of its property portfolio. This critical role involves overseeing a multi-site portfolio, ensuring efficient operations, and maintaining high standards for the resident experience. The successful candidate will be responsible for portfolio operations, mission integration, team leadership, and compliance. Specific duties include serving as a key contributor to the assessment of asset performance, managing the operating budget, and identifying opportunities to optimize operating costs. The role also requires acting as the primary operational counterpart to mission impact leadership, establishing clear performance expectations, and building a stable leadership structure across the portfolio. Candidates for the Managing Director position must have a minimum of 12 years' of experience in property management or affordable housing operations, with at least 5 years' in a supervisory role. Advanced proficiency in property management systems and a deep understanding of regulatory environments for various housing programs are essential. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to the Housing First model, the ability to de-escalate high-stakes issues, and excellent communication skills. A Bachelor's degree in a related field, a Certified Property Manager (CPM) designation, and an Illinois Managing Broker License are preferred qualifications. The role demands a dedicated individual who is adept at balancing mission and financial performance, and who is passionate about the challenges of creating and operating service-rich affordable housing.
