Slot Technician

Responsibilities Maintains, installs, converts, and configures slot machines on assigned shifts according to departmental plans. Performs daily preventive maintenance on gaming devices (validator units, ticket printers, card readers) as specified by the slot performance supervisor. Follows machine entry and repair procedures to proactively identify or prevent future equipment problems. Maintains and repairs electronic circuitry of all Slot Operations related equipment. Safeguards all assigned assets during installation, build, conversion, or reconfiguration. Uses approved electronic test equipment for repairs or maintenance. Diagnoses faulty equipment and troubleshoots to subsystem level (Hopper, Comparator, MPU board, etc.). Operates shop equipment (hand tools, welding, soldering, test equipment) safely and effectively, maintaining proper documentation (repair logs, shift logs, daily reports, J.M.R.s). Complies with gaming compact, regulatory requirements, company and departmental SOPs. Maintains shelf stock of validators, ticket printers, and card readers in the slot performance shop at predetermined quantities. Completes projects and machine moves as assigned. Interacts with other departments professionally and courteously. Assists with validator software upgrades released by vendors. Performs any other duties necessary to improve operational direction. Qualifications High school graduate or equivalent required. Associate degree from a college, university, trade school, or two years related experience/training (preferred). Strong preference for one year of Slot department experience; must obtain and maintain appropriate license through the Virginia Lottery. Physical Requirements Maneuver in and around casino and public areas. Walk, bend, stoop, reach above head, and sit or stand for prolonged periods. Manual dexterity and coordination to operate office equipment, handle currency, coins, and keys. Respond calmly and make rational decisions when dealing with difficult guest and employee conflicts. Speak distinctly and persuasively to others. Respond to visual cues, distinguish colors. Tolerate work in areas with secondhand smoke, loud noises, bright lights, dust.
