Sales Development Program Sales Associate - Fluid Solutions

Overview As a Sales Associate on our Fluid Solutions team, you will begin a structured training path designed to prepare you for a future role as an Outside Sales Representative. The program includes on‑site training, digital onboarding, outbound sales campaigns, and comprehensive use of United Rentals sales tools. Responsibilities Begin training at a local branch, shadowing sales and operational roles to gain a full understanding of the equipment‑rental lifecycle. Participate in digital onboarding classes and collaborative training with peers across North America. Progress through outbound sales campaigns covering various construction verticals and customer segments. Master United Rentals sales tools, including CRM, inventory management, customer portal, and mobile applications. Lead high‑level sales conversations covering price negotiations, multi‑piece rental requests, government and educational agreements, equipment service contracts, and used equipment sales. Apply proven sales methodologies to deliver customer solutions and drive revenue growth. Engage in local team initiatives such as safety huddles, customer appreciation events, yard sale events, team‑building workshops, and charity drives. Track sales development progress through real‑time metrics and weekly peer‑ranked competitions. Receive daily feedback through corporate and local leadership meetings, call coaching, and ride‑along sessions. Develop sales strategies for accounts and create realistic timelines to achieve goals. Requirements Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience. Experience in a customer‑facing sales role preferred. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Strong teamwork and collaboration abilities. Proficient in computer, mobile phone, and tablet use. Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record. Training & Qualifications The program spans 4–6 months in the Sales Development Program (SDP). Candidates must live within a reasonable driving distance of the assigned branch and report on‑site Monday through Friday.
