Direct Support Professional (Caregiver)Firefly (Supportive Living & Employment Services) in Perryville, Missouri is seeking a compassionate and dedicated individual to join their team as a Direct Support Professional (Caregiver). This is a full-time position with no experience necessary as free training is provided.As a Direct Support Professional, you will have the opportunity to make a positive impact in people's lives by providing support services to adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. You will assist clients with daily tasks, promote their independence, and help them achieve their personal goals.What you'll get to do as a Direct Support Professional:Help developmentally disabled clients in their homes and communitiesHelp clients to access community resources and participate in social activitiesProvide transportation to clients out into the community for appointments and shoppingTeach clients to live independently, including cooking, cleaning, and managing moneyHelp clients with daily tasks, like personal care and hygieneWrite notes about client progress and achievementsCommunicate the client's progress with clients, families, and staffUnderstand and follow the client's Individual Support Plan (ISP)Attend meetings and training sessionsPerform other duties as assignedQualifications:High school diploma or equivalentGood communication and people skillsAbility to work alone and as part of a teamBasic computer skillsReliable transportation and valid driver's license (if applicable)Pass a background checkWork Environment:Work mostly in clients' homes and communities, with some travelMay require lifting or moving objects up to 50 poundsWork in various settings, including private homes, public spaces, and outdoorsMust be able to work varying shifts, including weekendsThank you for considering this opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities!
